About the role

  • Employee Payroll Representative responsible for payroll activities for VON's non-union and unionized employees. Ensuring accuracy of employee records and responding to inquiries in a health services context.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall employee life cycle transactional payroll activities
  • Ensures data integrity of VON employees
  • Supports the talent acquisition team in the hiring process
  • Issues letters to employees regarding changes in employment status
  • Works with Pension and Benefit team to ensure accurate actions
  • Responds to employee inquiries
  • Prepares reports including hours worked and payroll reconciliation
  • Completes audits on team actions
  • Assists in business testing for configuration changes
  • Monitors late time sheet reports

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in a relevant field
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience with HRIS and payroll systems
  • Experience working in a highly unionized environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills in conflict resolution, problem solving and critical thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High proficiency in Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Advanced data entry and keyboarding abilities
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and discretion
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check
