About the role

  • Business Development Representative promoting Wealthsimple’s investing, trading, banking, and financial products. Building pipelines, qualifying leads, and meeting deposit quotas through consultative sales.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with internally sourced and sales-sourced leads by phone, email, and SMS
  • Assess whether clients can self-serve or require human sales support
  • Promote Wealthsimple’s value proposition as the first point of contact
  • Use a needs-based sales approach to uncover client needs and position products and services
  • Conduct structured discovery to understand clients’ complete financial picture and identify consolidation and wallet-share opportunities
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities through daily client interactions
  • Build and manage a personal pipeline through referrals and dormant opportunities
  • Prioritize products aligned with business priorities, such as margin accounts, active trading, and cash balances
  • Nurture and qualify prospective clients through the full sales cycle through completion
  • Achieve monthly Net Deposit quotas and daily outbound activity KPIs

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in a sales role, ideally with a consultative or discovery-based component
  • Financial services or SaaS background preferred
  • Undergraduate or post-secondary degree in a related field
  • Working financial literacy across account types, including registered vs. non-registered and borrowing vs. deposit products
  • Experience with sales technology such as Salesforce, Salesloft, Gong, or equivalents
  • Consultative discovery skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Comfort using AI tools for productivity
  • Experience working toward goals or sales targets
  • Resilience handling rejection and objections
  • Resourcefulness and adaptability
  • Strong sales and business acumen
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Investment Funds in Canada (IFC) completion or progress recommended
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Cold-calling experience in a sales-driven environment
