About the role

  • Technical inside sales representative selling Apera AI’s robotic vision solutions to Value Accounts. Managing prospecting, technical demos, consultative sales, and full-cycle revenue growth remotely across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and engage new prospects through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn, and targeted campaigns
  • Generate pipeline and meet weekly targets for conversations, qualified opportunities, and virtual demonstrations
  • Respond to marketing-generated leads and convert them into active opportunities
  • Manage and grow a book of mid-sized Value Accounts across North America
  • Build relationships with engineering, operations, and purchasing decision-makers
  • Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts
  • Develop working knowledge of Apera’s AI vision products, robotic applications, and integration requirements
  • Lead technical discovery and assess application fit and technical feasibility
  • Deliver virtual product demonstrations and answer first-line technical questions
  • Prepare and manage quotes and proposals
  • Present to engineering, operations, and executive audiences
  • Handle objections, negotiate, follow up, and close deals
  • Partner with Marketing on segments, campaigns, webinars, trade shows, and events
  • Manage lead definitions, handoffs, CRM follow-up, customer insights, and pipeline reviews
  • Maintain pipeline and accurate forecasts in the CRM, such as HubSpot
  • Track customer activity, deal progress, and opportunity health
  • Coordinate with engineering and applications teams on technical evaluations
  • Provide customer feedback to product teams
  • Ensure smooth post-sale handoff to delivery and customer success

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in technical inside sales or full-cycle B2B sales, ideally in robotics, industrial automation, machine vision, or advanced manufacturing
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex technical products and discuss them credibly with engineers and integrators
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into customer value and a compelling business case
  • Demonstrated success in proactive outbound prospecting and self-generated pipeline
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Experience working closely with Marketing, including lead follow-up and campaign-driven selling
  • Strong virtual selling skills, including live product demos and solution-based consultative selling
  • Experience with quoting tools and CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce
  • Hands-on familiarity with robotic systems, industrial automation, PLCs, or AI-based machine vision is nice to have
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field is strongly preferred; a Business degree with demonstrated technical sales experience will also be considered
