About the role

  • Sales Representative growing Avantor’s life-science solutions revenue across Greater Vancouver. Acquiring customers, expanding accounts, and delivering consultative scientific product solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales process and support revenue growth across a defined territory and portfolio of customers
  • Acquire new customers and expand business within existing accounts through in-person meetings, product presentations, and consultative selling
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, Product Specialists, Customer Care, and other internal teams to deliver tailored solutions
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM systems such as C4C and monitor sales activity
  • Execute territory business plans aligned with broader commercial goals
  • Manage a territory of diverse customers across various markets to optimize sales revenue growth and gross profits
  • Prospect and establish new customers by managing a sales pipeline and developing and delivering value-based proposals
  • Develop retention strategies and expand Avantor’s role with existing customers
  • Detail products, determine customer needs, and recommend Avantor solutions
  • Build and sustain customer relationships and ensure satisfaction and loyalty
  • Implement company marketing plans, strategies, and sales processes using available resources
  • Work with sales management to develop proposals and implement sales strategies
  • Work with local manufacturer representatives to improve product knowledge, pricing, and account profitability
  • Demonstrate Avantor’s mission and uphold the Avantor Code of Conduct
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree within sciences or equivalent, or applicable experience preferred
  • 1-3+ years of experience preferred
  • Experience working in a complex, dynamic sales environment with multiple purchasing decision-makers and a solution-based approach
  • Business-to-business sales experience preferred, especially distribution experience
  • Scientific background and/or experience in a laboratory or research environment preferred
  • Excellent people skills in communicating and collaborating with customers, manufacturing representatives, management, team members, and internal specialists
  • Ability to conduct business conversations with business owners and decision-makers
  • Ability to work independently and manage time and territory successfully
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to sell strategically within an account
  • Ability to understand individual customer operations
  • Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office; Salesforce or QlikView experience preferred
  • Should be located in the Greater Vancouver Area
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in good standing
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations at least 5 days per week
  • Expected travel of 50–75%, including overnight travel
  • Canadian Sales associates must travel to the United States for annual sales conferences and occasional training sessions
