About the role

  • Talent Acquisition & HR Coordinator supporting recruiting and People operations at Canadian gaming company Big Viking Games. Managing candidate pipelines, HR systems, onboarding, and leadership coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Source candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, outbound outreach, and internal talent pipelines
  • Build and maintain pipelines for engineering, data, product, player services, operations, and art or content roles
  • Review applications and conduct first-round qualification screens
  • Recommend which candidates should advance and explain why
  • Own interview scheduling and logistics, including in-person interviews at the Toronto office
  • Prepare interview briefing packages and coordinate structured interviewer feedback
  • Maintain Workable stages, notes, tags, disqualification reasons, automations, and next steps
  • Assist with offer preparation, approvals, reference checks, and onboarding handoffs
  • Track and report weekly recruiting metrics
  • Provide timely candidate outcome updates
  • Run onboarding and offboarding logistics, including paperwork, equipment, access, schedules, checklists, and HRIS updates
  • Draft and maintain offer letters, employment agreements, contractor agreements, HR templates, and People documents
  • Maintain Humi employee records, org chart data, leaves, contractor renewals, and departures
  • Reconcile headcount data with Finance
  • Support benefits administration, time-off tracking, and employee recordkeeping
  • Support leadership scheduling, interview loops, candidate follow-ups, contract sign-offs, and action-item tracking
  • Support all-hands logistics, social committee coordination, recognition, events, and in-office employee experience
  • Document and improve People processes, SOPs, checklists, and workflows
  • Handle confidential information with judgment and discretion
  • Use AI tools to assist with outreach, screening summaries, candidate briefs, job descriptions, résumé ranking, and administrative workflows while reviewing outputs for accuracy
  • Support clean handoffs among recruiting, HR, hiring managers, Finance, IT, and leadership

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in recruiting coordination, talent acquisition, HR coordination, agency recruiting, RPO, people operations, or a related role
  • Co-op, internship, or early-career experience considered if it shows strong ownership and follow-through
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Comfort reviewing résumés, running screening conversations, and explaining candidate advancement recommendations
  • Strong organization and follow-through across many moving parts
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication
  • Comfort working directly with senior leaders and hiring managers
  • Discretion with confidential information, including compensation, contracts, employee data, and candidate information
  • Working knowledge of Ontario employment basics, or ability to learn quickly
  • Technical comfort with recruiting systems, HR systems, spreadsheets, collaboration tools, and modern workplace software
  • Ability to work from the Toronto office four days per week
  • Eligibility to work in Canada
  • Nice to have: Workable or other ATS experience
  • Nice to have: LinkedIn Recruiter or similar sourcing tools
  • Nice to have: Google Workspace, Slack, Humi, Confluence, Jira, or similar workplace tools
  • Nice to have: Hands-on use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or AI-enabled sourcing and screening tools
  • Nice to have: Exposure to games, technology, SaaS, startups, or fast-moving operating environments
  • Nice to have: Exposure to hiring engineering, data, product, player services, or creative roles
  • Nice to have: Progress toward CHRP or a similar HR designation
  • Nice to have: Experience supporting in-office, hybrid, or executive-heavy interview processes
