About the role

  • Senior brand and marketing strategist leading client strategy for Cubicle Fugitive, a professional-services branding and web agency. Managing a small multidisciplinary team while shaping positioning, research, campaigns, and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients on brand positioning strategy, client and competitive research, communications strategy and planning, and marketing and business development plans
  • Translate strategies into websites, campaigns, and plans in collaboration with design and development teams
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and research
  • Develop insights and present findings to firm leadership
  • Lead an agile team across website, marketing, communications, and SEO
  • Set direction, allocate work, uphold quality standards, provide feedback, and support team development
  • Run formal reviews and advocate for team training and resources
  • Monitor workload distribution across the team
  • Scope and estimate work and keep projects on time and on budget
  • Identify issues early and ensure clients receive promised deliverables
  • Direct design, development, and SEO work
  • Use AI for research, first drafts, final edits, and analysis with appropriate human review
  • Shape proposals and estimates
  • Identify additional client needs and monitor competitor offerings
  • Represent Cubicle Fugitive at industry events and through professional memberships

Requirements

  • Seven to ten years in brand, marketing, or communications strategy
  • Experience in an agency, consultancy, or in-house professional services firm
  • Ability to develop defensible, research-based strategy
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Resourcefulness and ability to work through unfamiliar problems
  • Strong client and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
  • Calm, steady leadership under changing conditions
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring people
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Working knowledge of websites, SEO, content, and design sufficient to direct work credibly
