Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and oversee a dedicated team of Senior Payroll Specialists, Specialists, Assistants, and Associates.
Ensure timely, accurate execution of complex payrolls while driving process improvements.
Provide day-to-day operational leadership, manage performance reviews, approve timecards/PTO, and coach team members.
Monitor daily data input and check preparation to guarantee accurate, scheduled payroll completion.
Analyze systemic payroll hurdles and implement best practices to improve departmental efficiency.
Act as the second-level escalation point for complex payroll issues, ensuring strict adherence to laws.
Requirements
5–7 years of hands-on payroll processing experience, ideally within a payroll services, PEO, or high-volume BPO industry.
Proven expertise processing and managing multi-Canadian provincial payrolls.
Professional, bilingual fluency in French and English is mandatory.
High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of traditional or non-traditional education, training, and experience.
Active PCP or PLP certification mandatory.
Certified Payroll Manager designation preferred.
Strong organizational agility with the ability to prioritize and switch tasks under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and audience-adaptation skills.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel and Outlook).
