Responsibilities
Supervises the team of Payroll Specialists, Payroll Assistants and Payroll Associates in client payroll function
Provides day to day operational leadership within the department.
Responsible for performance reviews, PTO approvals, timecard approvals, and coaching employees.
Ensures all payrolls are completed as scheduled and assists the team where needed.
Monitors payroll associates and specialists that input payroll data and prepare payroll checks.
Inputs changes to personnel information or tax laws, overtime, and bonus payments.
Assists in the preparation and distribution of payroll-related summaries.
Develops best practices to improve payroll process efficiency and accuracy.
Addresses payroll related queries and requests and analyzes payroll problems for resolutions.
Participates in hiring process, performance reviews, and progressive discipline.
Prepares and leads department meetings.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of experience, skills, education (including other relevant non-traditional degree programs, certifications, or job training programs) required.
Experience handling/managing multi-Canadian provincial payrolls, payroll systems, and processing Canadian payroll.
5-7 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in the payroll services or similar industry.
