About the role

  • Ocean import operations coordinator managing end-to-end shipments for DSV, a global transport and logistics leader. Coordinating carriers, documents, compliance, costs, KPIs, and customer communication.

Responsibilities

  • Daily management and coordination of ocean import shipments
  • Establish and coordinate schedules with carriers and tender shipments
  • Create and coordinate country-specific documents
  • Adhere to domestic and international shipping regulations
  • Track and trace all shipments
  • Prepare and publish reports as requested
  • Proactively identify problems and implement appropriate solutions
  • Confirm rates with carriers
  • Contain shipment costs via the accounting system
  • Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, and select cost-effective pickup and/or delivery methods
  • Ensure DSV KPIs are met throughout shipment movement
  • Perform lane analysis to select the appropriate transport mode according to customer requirements
  • Communicate daily with customers regarding relevant issues and resolutions
  • Manage new account implementation from standard operating procedure to execution
  • Support DSV’s ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certification commitments at the Montreal location
  • Perform tasks supporting quality, health, safety, environmental objectives, sustainability, and workplace safety

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years international transportation industry experience or education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study
  • CIFFA certificate, an asset
  • Dangerous Goods Certification, an asset
  • GDP Training, if required
  • Good command, both verbal and written, English skills
  • Proficiency of the French language is required for local communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • CargoWise experience, an asset
  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to create collaborative engagements and active listening
  • Service oriented and able to resolve customer grievances
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task, plan, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work as both a team builder and team-player
