About the role

  • Senior network operations specialist troubleshooting critical infrastructure for TD, a global financial institution. Resolving escalated incidents across cloud, SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancers, and wired/wireless networks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level troubleshooting expertise for network incidents and issues
  • Participate in an on-call pager rotation
  • Resolve critical and escalated network incidents as part of the L2 Tech Response support team
  • Keep critical network services operational on a global basis
  • Analyze network traces to identify root causes quickly
  • Fix issues and work with other teams to eliminate root causes and prevent future incidents
  • Manage support queues when needed and direct colleagues toward resolution
  • Use automation and advanced network management tools to resolve incidents efficiently
  • Support wired, wireless, cloud, SD-WAN, firewall, load-balancing, and other network platforms
  • Provide operational support in a large and complex network environment
  • Conduct proactive monitoring and reduce incident resolution time
  • Communicate with senior management and collaborate across teams
  • Multitask, prioritize, and address challenges in real time

Requirements

  • 10+ years of solid hands-on relevant experience with wired and wireless technologies, including routing/switching, firewalls, load balancing, cloud, SD-WAN, QoS, VoIP, optical, DHCP, DNS, monitoring tools, and CDN
  • Expert-level network trace analysis skills
  • Experience supporting a large and complex network environment
  • Experience exploring and implementing automation for proactive monitoring and reducing incident resolution time
  • Flexibility with on-call duties, rotation, and shift timing
  • Deep technical knowledge of network platforms and application-network interactions
  • Knowledge of Cloud, SaaS, ACI, SD-WAN, wired and wireless networking, F5 load balancing, and Palo Alto firewalls
  • Strong leadership and supervisory/consulting skills for complex incident troubleshooting and queue management
  • Experience with automation and advanced network management tooling
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies including firewalls, load balancers, routing and switching, QoS, VoIP, optical, monitoring tools, DHCP, DNS, CDN, ACI, and DNAC
  • CCIE, F5, Palo Alto, data-center, and SD-WAN qualifications are a definite plus
  • Deep Wireshark and ExtraHop analysis skills
  • Ability to communicate technical issues concisely to senior management
