About the role

  • Senior Travel Claims Specialist working in travel claims risk management team at Manulife. Handling adjudication claims, providing decisions, and resolving customer complaints.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Manulife’s Third Party Providers of emergency medical assistance
  • Make final claims decisions, claims exceptions, and business decisions on contested claims
  • Review and respond to appeals or correspondence submitted by lawyers on behalf of their clients
  • Investigate, resolve, and respond to Escalated Complaints
  • Conduct monthly random audits of travel claims and credit card benefits processed by Manulife’s Third Party Providers
  • Provide input on contract wording for new and existing products and plans

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in adjudication claims, preferably life, health or travel
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, decision making, and negotiation skills.
  • knowledge of medical terminology, medications and their applications, diseases, tests, and treatment modes is an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism
  • Ability to identify potential problems and risks, and be accountable for solutions
  • Exceptional customer service skills
