About the role

  • Technical sales executive winning large public safety software accounts for Motorola Solutions. Selling dispatch, records, evidence, analytics, and situational awareness platforms across assigned Canadian territories.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Motorola Solutions Software business line, including advisory and managed security services (SOC)
  • Sell computer aided dispatch, records management, jail management, evidence management, analytics, and situational awareness solutions to new customers
  • Capture new business among large-tier agencies
  • Work with the largest cities and counties within the territory to proactively influence opportunities before formal projects
  • Develop customer relationships through phone contact, personal visits, tradeshow attendance, onsite discovery, software demonstrations, oral presentations, and regional user group meetings
  • Manage sales responsibilities by region or major geographical area
  • Conduct onsite product presentations and internet demonstrations
  • Coordinate with state and local officials on individual and multi-jurisdictional projects
  • Qualify and develop leads and opportunities and maintain the sales pipeline

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of sales, pre sales, customer success, engineering, military, or public safety experience
  • OR 8+ years of sales, pre sales, customer success, engineering, military, or public safety experience
  • Sales experience in a technical field, computer software industry, or government sales preferred
  • Experience selling to multiple levels, project stakeholders, and committees a plus
  • Experience with large ticket products having long sales cycles beneficial
  • Ability to articulate and sell enterprise software solutions
  • Consistently proactive toward lead and opportunity qualification and development processes
  • Possess both consultative and relationship-based sales qualities
  • Familiar with CRM upkeep, management, forecasting, and maintenance of sales pipeline activities
  • Preferred candidates will live in British Columbia/Vancouver
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time within the assigned territory
  • Travel requirement: Over 50%
