Senior IT Program Manager for Ontario Government. 12 - month contract in Toronto, requiring technical PM experience with agile and SDLC.
About the role
- IT Program Manager leading GenAI initiatives in the insurance industry. Managing cross-functional teams and driving digital transformation projects remotely.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the delivery of GenAI projects from planning through execution
- Manage project scope, constraints, and roadmaps in collaboration with leadership
- Facilitate meetings, document action items, and develop project plans
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and ensure delivery aligns with business priorities
- Collaborate across functions to gather requirements and identify necessary resources
- Act as liaison between AI Delivery Leads, Portfolio Managers, and business units
- Monitor project health, escalate issues when needed, and maintain stakeholder alignment
- Develop and present project deliverables, stakeholder maps, and governance plans
- Provide regular reporting, status updates, and risk assessments
- Independently drive projects while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- MBA or other related advanced degree is a nice to have
- PMP or PMI certification is nice to have
- 8–10 years of proven project management experience, including people management and team building
- Experience delivering projects in fast-paced, multi-platform environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Experience in cost-benefit analysis, roadmap development, and project documentation
- Ability to work closely with business and technology stakeholders
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and ability to present to senior stakeholders
- Comfortable with data analysis to inform decision-making
- Motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail
- Experience working on AI programs or exposure to financial services/sales is considered an asset
Benefits

- Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week
- Schedule from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm., EST time zone
