About the role

  • Dell vendor presales specialist supporting client hardware sales, proposals, training, and pipeline growth. Softchoice provides secure cloud, AI, software, and digital workplace solutions to Canadian and U.S. organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Dell pipeline of sales opportunities across multiple technology partners
  • Provide pre-sales support to Sales Representatives and customers for client hardware solutions
  • Identify new hardware-buying accounts, prospects, and upsell/cross-sell opportunities
  • Develop customer proposals and pricing comparisons for vendor hardware solutions
  • Deliver product roadmaps to customers
  • Develop and deliver training to Sales teams on vendor products and services
  • Engage local Sales teams to sell jointly into territories and customer accounts
  • Prepare and present training content to sellers and sales teams
  • Coordinate with vendor account executives and attend or speak at events
  • Build quotes in Dell Premier
  • Participate in Dell Client Tech Refresh
  • Drive net-new Dell customer wins and logos
  • Track quote volume and increase activity
  • Make six proactive calls per week introducing Softchoice value propositions or new offers
  • Attend four team meetings per month
  • Coordinate with alliance managers on acquisition promotions and campaigns
  • Respond promptly to existing request volume
  • Analyze pipeline and create touchpoints for ISG server and storage upsell/cross-sell
  • Engage with ISG Dell Vendor Sales Specialists
  • Recommend PCs, AI PCs, peripherals, accessories, and IT lifecycle services to address customer needs
  • Coordinate and execute sales strategies across multiple sales districts and channels
  • Grow customers through competitive tactics while retaining and enriching existing accounts
  • Manage local vendor partnerships for successful solution execution

Requirements

  • Excellent customer-facing presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence in executive-level meetings
  • Ability to develop strategies and tactics to meet business objectives
  • Strong sense of competition and refusal to lose
  • Ability to be self-managed and motivated
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience, including 3+ years in sales or presales
  • Work experience in the IT industry in sales or presales is required
  • Strong vendor licensing background
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong PC OEM and workplace hardware industry knowledge
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to travel for vendor events as necessary
  • Criminal record check, education verification, and reference checks before starting
