About the role

  • Ocean import operations coordinator managing end-to-end shipments for DSV, a global transport and logistics company. Coordinating carriers, documentation, compliance, customer service, and cost-effective delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate shipments daily
  • Establish and coordinate schedules with carriers and tender shipments
  • Create and coordinate country-specific documents
  • Adhere to domestic and international shipping regulations
  • Track and trace shipments
  • Prepare and publish reports as requested
  • Identify problems proactively and implement appropriate solutions
  • Confirm rates with carriers
  • Contain shipment costs through the accounting system
  • Evaluate shipments, consolidate loads, and select cost-effective pickup or delivery methods
  • Ensure DSV KPIs are met throughout shipment movement
  • Perform lane analysis to select appropriate transport modes within customer requirements
  • Communicate daily with customers regarding relevant issues and resolutions
  • Manage new account implementation from standard operating procedure through execution
  • Process shipments from start to finish while coordinating and monitoring movement
  • Ensure compliance with DSV policies and government regulations
  • Serve as the primary customer contact and coordinate with overseas offices, airlines or ocean carriers, warehouses, and truckers
  • Support DSV's quality, health, safety, environmental, sustainability, and ISO 9001/ISO 45001 objectives

Requirements

  • Minimum of one to two years international transportation industry experience, or education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study
  • CIFFA certificate, an asset
  • Dangerous Goods Certification, an asset
  • GDP Training, if required
  • Good command of verbal and written English
  • Ability to create collaborative engagements and active listening
  • Service oriented and able to resolve customer grievances
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task, plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • CargoWise experience, an asset
  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • May be required to work beyond regular hours based on business needs
