About the role
- People Operations Generalist owning multi-state compliance, payroll, benefits, and handbook operations. Helping Jerry.ai, an AI-powered physical-asset advisor, redesign HR workflows with AI.
Responsibilities
- Own multi-state compliance, including tracking state-by-state law changes, drafting policy updates, and implementing them across employee classifications and pay ranges
- Lead the annual compliance audit and handbook refresh from start to finish within the first 90 days
- Handle escalated payroll, benefits, and leave questions
- Review and unblock the work of Payroll and HR Administration team members
- Rearchitect HR operations processes with an AI-native mindset
- Grow into ownership of day-to-day HR operations management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- At least 2 years of hands-on HR generalist experience
- Genuine in-house, multi-state compliance experience
- Hands-on experience drafting policies, entering payroll, and handling compliance filings
- Comfort working with payroll, benefits, and compliance in a small, high-intensity team
- Enthusiasm for building with AI
- Must currently reside in an eligible location: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada
