About the role

  • Field-based clinical specialist supporting Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s cardiac electrophysiology products and procedures in Alberta. Training physicians and hospital teams on CARTO 3 and ablation technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional clinical support to physicians and health care providers on the safe and effective use of the CARTO 3 three-dimensional mapping system in Electrophysiology and OR suites.
  • Support and provide expertise on the Biosense Webster electrophysiology product portfolio, including diagnostic and ablation catheters, ICE catheters and RF ablation generator.
  • Serve as the main clinical contact for hospital accounts in the territory, including customer in-servicing, inventory management and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Deliver education and training on CARTO 3, Biosense Webster products, ablation techniques and electrophysiology procedures to physicians, nurses and technologists.
  • Help roll out new technology through peer-to-peer training, customer training and presentations, and physician feedback collection.
  • Manage account relationships with the Product Specialist to support business and market share growth objectives.

Requirements

  • A University Degree in health sciences, engineering or business or a Cardiology Technologist diploma is required.
  • A minimum 1 year of clinical, technical or research work experience in a patient care, hospital environment or medical device background; educational placements or practicums accepted as work experience.
  • Ability and desire to successfully complete a comprehensive 12–16 month on-the-job training program covering the Biosense Webster product portfolio, CARTO 3 Mapping system, Cardiac Anatomy and Electrophysiology, RF ablation techniques and Intra-Cardiac Echo (ICE).
  • Ability to work seamlessly with operating physicians and nurses, providing undivided attention throughout cardiac procedures.
  • Willingness to work in an operating room setting, attend live patient procedures and work variable hours to meet patient needs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% overnight within the territory, occasionally on short notice.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required to operate a company-issued vehicle.
