Field Clinical Specialist training clinicians and supporting Terumo medical devices in interventional procedures. Traveling to hospitals, cath labs and customer accounts across Canada.
Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert providing product support, education, training and insight on specialty medical devices
Proctor physicians and ancillary staff during procedures using supported devices
Provide in-services and presentations on technologies, medical devices and specific procedures
Train internal and external customers on proper techniques and use of therapeutic and diagnostic TIS products
Serve as company liaison with customers on clinical and technical matters
Communicate with marketing and sales teams regarding technical and clinical issues
Operate computer simulation equipment and vessel model units during trade shows, clinical meetings and PACE-sponsored courses
Develop and maintain clinical communications supporting appropriate product utilization
Resolve clinical and technical problems with sales, marketing, internal departments and customers
Support clinical seminars, medical society symposia and courses
Visit key customers to evaluate products, maintain relationships and gather competitive and product feedback
Ensure clinical compatibility and appropriate, safe use of TIS products
Maintain compliance with TMC quality systems, FDA regulations, international guidelines, AdvaMed guidelines and Terumo policies
Recognize and forward customer complaints and product performance reports to Quality Assurance
Ensure promotional messaging and materials are clinically accurate and compliant
Follow good clinical practices and Design Control procedures during product development and clinical activities
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
Technical or professional health services licensure from an accredited licensing entity (i.e.: RT, RCIS, RN) or a 4 year health sciences or science related Bachelors degree
Minimum of 3 years experience in a clinical setting (peripheral and/or cardiology related)
Minimum of 3 years scrubbing experience within the Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology environment
Prior experience as a Field Clinical Specialist with a medical device company is preferred
Strong technical and clinical knowledge in human anatomy and physiology and medical procedural techniques (preferably endovascular and/or cardiac)
Ability to quickly gain a thorough knowledge of company products and their recommended use
Ability to analyze product applications and misapplications and diagnose product issues
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
Training ability and current knowledge of technology, company products and accepted medical practices
Ability to handle several time-constrained projects simultaneously
Ability to present and communicate complex clinical and technical data to non-scientific audiences
Ability to apply business understanding to clinical support and customer-facing/sales force interactions
Ability to drive a personal automobile daily and travel approximately 70% overnight by car and/or air, including occasional weekend travel
Ability to gain access to and work in IR suites, cath labs and operating rooms
Ability to wear appropriate gowning and stand for long periods
Knowledge of radiation exposure and protections
Compliance with vendor credentialing requirements, including training, background checks and proof of immunization where required
