About the role

  • Business Development Manager promoting Manulife Bank’s lending, loan, deposit, and debt-management solutions. Building advisor relationships across an assigned Ontario territory while working remotely and traveling.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the Bank’s full range of products and services
  • Represent the voice of Customers and Advisors
  • Align Client/Advisor needs with technology, product, and service solutions
  • Develop, maintain, and expand advisor/referral relationships within a specified geographic territory
  • Conduct regular strategic contacts and meetings according to an annual business plan
  • Optimize delivery of products, service, and advice while improving sales efforts
  • Demonstrate the value of coordinated Bank products and services alongside advisors’ insurance and money-product businesses
  • Develop, organize, and deliver proposals, business cases, and case analyses to advisors
  • Share best practices and collaborate with Business Development Managers across the organization
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing products and services
  • Partner with Manulife wealth, insurance, and group representatives to build advisor interest in debt management, loan, and deposit solutions
  • Travel within the assigned territory while working from home

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent proven experience
  • 5 or more years of banking/credit experience
  • Completed or working towards an industry designation such as AMP preferred
  • Business planning and territory management skills
  • Fluency in both spoken and written Mandarin required
  • Conversational Cantonese would be an asset
  • Ability to persuade and negotiate through consultation and active listening
  • Diplomacy and conflict management skills
  • Effective presentation skills for small and large groups
  • Knowledge of Manulife Investments and life insurance products an asset
  • Ability to innovate in sales strategies, marketing concepts, and product applications
  • Valid driver’s license and a vehicle
  • Understanding of residential and commercial lending policies and practices
