About the role

  • Sales Manager driving luxury resort bookings, guest experiences, and travel-trade partnerships for Sonora Resort. Growing corporate and group revenue through consultative sales and industry networking.

Responsibilities

  • Drive guest satisfaction and revenue growth for Sonora Resort, a luxury all-inclusive Relais & Châteaux resort in British Columbia
  • Provide seamless pre- and post-stay guest services to convert and retain guests
  • Engage prospects and clients by phone, email, messaging, and social channels
  • Prepare client quotes using Excel and other software tools and communicate correct rates
  • Provide reservation details to the reservations department
  • Customize guest itineraries and coordinate reservation and trip details with operations
  • Provide transportation date, time, and location information to guests
  • Coordinate room inventory management to optimize sales
  • Learn and apply PMS and CRM tools to improve guest experience and productivity
  • Develop and grow B2C and B2B relationships to generate incremental revenue
  • Conduct proactive outreach to travel advisors, corporate planners, and group buyers
  • Manage travel trade partnerships, including product updates and training
  • Own the corporate and group sales cycle from lead generation through contract execution
  • Partner with Marketing on outreach, warm leads, and sales materials
  • Plan and host site visits and familiarization experiences
  • Advise leadership on favorable booking-agent agreement terms
  • Attend and represent Sonora Resort at trade shows and exhibitions
  • Prepare presentations for trade shows and exhibitions
  • Build partnerships with DMOs, DMCs, travel trade partners, meeting planners, and industry stakeholders
  • Communicate payment schedules and monitor upcoming or overdue balances
  • Ensure pre-stay payments are collected according to resort terms
  • Coordinate commission payments and work with Accounting and Reservations to ensure timely payment
  • Support Finance with accurate sales reporting
  • Contribute to strategic sales plans and annual revenue targets
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments and adjust sales strategies

Requirements

  • Fluent in English; additional languages considered an asset
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada; Sonora Resort is unable to assist with obtaining work authorization
  • Minimum 2–3 years of sales experience in the hotel industry; luxury hotel experience is an asset
  • 2–3 years of proven sales experience in luxury hospitality or travel
  • An undergraduate degree with an emphasis on business preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Experience with property management software (PMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software an asset
  • Strong relationships in the travel trade and/or corporate incentive markets
  • Solid understanding of the luxury travel market, including Virtuoso and Signature networks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to build, expand, and activate B2C and B2B relationships
  • Highly detail-oriented, with ability to prepare quotes and group contracts accurately
  • Exceptional organizational and pipeline-management skills
  • Capability to train booking agents on Sonora services
  • Experience coordinating and hosting site visits, trade shows, and industry events
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to adapt sales strategies to changing market conditions and priorities
  • Ability to collaborate with reservations, marketing, Events, and finance departments
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to contribute to and execute strategic sales plans, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information professionally and discreetly
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and attend monthly in-person meetings at the Richmond, BC head office
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • Required to spend time onsite at Sonora Resort for sales events
  • Extensive computer work, including typing and reading from a computer screen
  • Adherence to workplace health and safety standards, company policies, and code of conduct
