About the role

  • VP leading Sun Life Global Investments’ Canadian investment product strategy, marketing and partnerships. Driving growth across mutual funds, ETFs, annuities, GICs and institutional solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic direction for Sun Life Global Investments’ product portfolio
  • Lead product development for mutual funds, ETFs, target date funds, segregated funds, annuities and GICs
  • Lead integrated go-to-market, marketing, brand and communications strategies
  • Strengthen SLGI’s market presence through thought leadership, industry forums, partner engagements and strategic client conversations
  • Use analytics, client research and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities and improve decisions
  • Lead product strategy, roadmap and product shelf management from opportunity identification through post-implementation review
  • Ensure products meet profitability targets and regulatory requirements
  • Provide post-launch product oversight and recommend product mergers and closures
  • Support retail and institutional distribution teams with sales concepts, product positioning, training and ongoing support
  • Establish policies and controls and mitigate investment and business risk
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with partners, asset managers and industry stakeholders
  • Lead and develop high-performing, diverse teams and build succession depth
  • Partner with investments, operations, distribution, finance, legal, risk, digital and client experience teams

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • 10-15+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial services, asset management, wealth, insurance, investment solutions, product strategy, marketing or a related field
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver enterprise-level growth initiatives with measurable business impact
  • Bilingualism in French and English, both oral and written, required for Quebec positions
  • Experience with product strategy, product development, marketing, strategic partnerships and investment solutions
  • Ability to lead product portfolios including mutual funds, ETFs, target date funds, segregated funds, annuities and GICs
  • Advanced education in business, marketing, analytics or investments is an asset
